Vacuuming Tips for Better Carpet Cleaning

Vacuuming Tips for Better Carpet Cleaning

To make carpet cleaning more efficient, here are vacuuming tips you’ll want to follow.

If you want to keep carpets in good condition, vacuuming is a big part of the process. When it comes to carpet vacuuming, it’s not quite as simple as turning your vacuum cleaner on and running it across your carpet, as there are certain techniques that make the process more effective. To make carpet cleaning more efficient, here are vacuuming tips you’ll want to follow.

Clear Out the Area Before You Start Vacuuming

You won’t want to navigate around obstructions while you’re vacuuming. That’s why it’s best to clear out the area before you pull out your vacuum cleaner. This ensures that no part of your carpet gets ignored during the carpet cleaning process. You also don’t want to accidentally suck up long strings or hard objects that could cause damage to the vacuum itself.

Adjust the Height of Your Vacuum Cleaner

A lot of vacuum cleaners have different height settings you can use. The setting you pick will depend on the type of carpet that you have. That’s why, for the most efficient carpet cleaning process possible, you’ll want to choose the right height setting.

If you have a high-pile carpet, you’ll want to switch your vacuum to a higher setting. Likewise, for low-pile carpets, it’s more efficient to go with a lower setting. It’s important that your vacuum brush is able to keep rotating as intended. You want to lower your vacuum height by one setting at a time until you hear a different sound. When you hear this change in sound, raise your vacuum height up by one setting, and you should be good to go.

Pay Close Attention to Corners

While getting vacuuming done, don’t ignore the corners of your carpeting. To make sure the corners are thoroughly cleaned, you’ll want to get either a crevice tool or hose attachment and clean the edges of the room. This allows you to hit the spots that are harder to reach with standard vacuuming procedures.
