A lot goes on around your office every day, and one of the tasks that needs to get done is to get the office cleaned. Your office has many areas that need to be cleaned. Given all of the different areas that need cleaning, it helps to have a checklist that goes over everything that needs to be done. Here are some of the tasks you’ll want to put on your office cleaning checklist.

Clean the Reception Area

The reception area is the first area of your business that others will see. Therefore, you’ll always want it kept clean so that you can make a strong first impression on visitors. There are a few ways you can prepare your reception area for customers. Completing these tasks will make your reception area a much more welcoming place.

  1. Dust your HVAC vents and clean their filters, if needed.
  2. Disinfect door handles
  3. Empty your trash cans when they get full
  4. Keep welcome mats neat and tidy
  5. Clean the front doors, especially when they’re made from glass
  6. Wipe down the reception counter with disinfectant

Clean Your Office Cubicles

Your employees will be spending a lot of time in their office cubicles. You’ll want these cubicles to be kept clean so that your employees can have the best possible work environment. This can raise employee morale because keeping their work space clean shows that you care about them. Here are office cleaning tasks to get done for your office cubicles:

  1. Wipe down desks, phones, and chair arms (if needed) with disinfectant
  2. Clean your cubicle partitions
  3. Empty out trash bins
  4. Dust hard surfaces, such as cabinets and shelves

Clean the Kitchen/Break Area

Your employees will occasionally head to the kitchen or break room during the day. Sometimes, it could be to get coffee. Other times, dishes may need to be washed. It may also be for a lunch break. Whatever the reason, keeping the space clean is an important part of your office cleaning checklist, especially because people will be eating in these areas. To keep your kitchen/break room clean, here’s what you’ll want to do:

  1. Empty out the refrigerator when there are unclaimed items. (Give employees time to claim what’s theirs first)/
  2. Wipe down fridge shelves and counters with some disinfectant
  3. Clean the water cooler and coffee maker
  4. Wash any dirty dishes there may be in the sink
  5. Vacuum/mop the floors
  6. Empty out trash bins
