Winter brings plenty of snow, and because of this, the ground will be wet, meaning people will walk into your building with damp shoes. If that wasn’t enough, you might find people tracking salt into your building as well. This is because many surfaces get treated with salt so that snow melts off of them more quickly.
It’s important to keep sweeping and vacuuming every day. In addition, weekly mopping goes a long way. For whatever hard surfaces you have, a solution of vinegar and warm water is helpful for mopping your floors because it helps remove the salt. Your surfaces will still be slippery after this, however, so you’ll need to place caution signs near any slick surfaces to alert people. Having mats is also helpful because people can walk on them instead in order to have a safer surface.
Disinfect Common Areas Every Day
Bathrooms and breakrooms should be top priorities when performing winter office cleaning. These rooms are common gathering places for all kinds of nasty germs because they are areas that get plenty of foot traffic.
